Lauren Reeves
Lauren Reeves
Lauren Reeves (she/her) is a comedy writer, author, and reality TV producer living in Los Angeles, California. Born and raised on a gold mine in Fairbanks, Alaska, Lauren spent the first two decades of her life digging up buried treasure, such as gold nuggets and wolly mammoth ivory. Lauren is a true Klondike because, as it turns out, she's incredibly gay. Her career started at eighteen when she got a job reporting and anchoring the local news at her hometown's NBC affiliate, where she covered the bustling Alaskan crime scene. From there, Lauren accepted a reporting job at ABC Alaska News in the thriving metropolis of Anchorage. Lauren eventually left journalism and moved to New York City, where she studied and performed improv at the Upright Citizens Brigade Theater, kicking off her career in Comedy. Lauren frequently appeared as characters on The Late Show with David Letterman and Late Night with Jimmy Fallon, playing the NBC Page alongside Jimmy. Lauren was also the Host and Senior Fashion Editor of the Hulu show Chic TV for six years, covering New York Fashion Week with exclusive backstage interviews with the world's top models and designers. She wrote and hosted the weekly show Mad Woman for Adweek, where she poked fun at various commercial campaigns. Lauren writes the Clio Awards, known as the Super Bowl of Advertising, writing for some of her comedy idols, like Cecily Strong and Amy Sedaris. She also wrote the Village Voice Pride Awards hosted by Alan Cumming.
Lauren and her family appeared in the National Geographic show Gold Fathers, about prospecting for gold on her family's land in Alaska; her Dad being the largest private landowner in the state. Lauren moved to Los Angeles, where she worked as a Producer and Writer on shows, including @Midnight, MTV's Ex On the Beach, Big Chicken Shaq with Shaquille O'Neil, and a few TV specials for Mama June and Honey Boo Boo. Lauren's first book was a nostalgic send-off to the Oregon Trail computer game: And Then You Die of Dysentery; Lessons in Adulting From the Oregon Trail. Lauren led and won a landmark #MeToo case against a Hollywood Billionaire producer, causing him to lose more than one hundred million dollars to a handful of victims. Still, her career highlight was when she applied, as a joke, for a one-way ticket to live on Mars with the Mars One Project. The joke was on her when she was selected out of two hundred thousand applicants for the journey. Unfortunately, Mars One went bankrupt, so now Lauren is doomed to spend the rest of her life here on Earth.
